Even if Joe had to work 12-18 hours a day--via Blackberry--while I was away, he certainly managed to show the kids a little fun.
I guess he didn't take any pictures of the restaurant lunch meeting he had...with the kids staying happy with their umpteenth fountain drink refills.
Jimmer's remark to me after I returned:
"I don't even KNOW how many drinks we had that day. Let's see...I had a couple of root beers, 2 cups of Sprite/lemonade, and three cups of orange/Sprite."
They were on the boat in the morning as Mary Kate and I left Gramma's, and they headed to pick us up at the end of the day straight from the lake.
More root beer...
We even arrived 30 minutes early because a couple of people on the plane got sick, so the flight attendants reported it and got EMS on board at the gate before we were allowed to deplane. Lovely.
Still waiting for our incubation period to pass.
On a note of more relief...
Joe found our missing point and shoot. Whew! It had been missing for about a month, and I thought I had been the last to touch it.
Found in one of the boat bags.
Thanks, St. Anthony!

Love the one-arm hang.
It looks like they were the only ones there; how fun! I feel like I am repeating myself, but what a great area you live in! :)
The benefits of homeschooling and a husband with a flexible schedule. We usually go to our neighborhood pool early in the morning--when nobody's there, and we usually go out to the lake and hiking trails during the week or on off times--when few people are around. We also take vacations in the spring and fall--fewer tourists...and we can wing it with our plans.
The "sometimes island" they played on is only there because the lake is so low right now. They were the only ones on it all day.
You always find the neatest places to take the kids hiking! Are you going to the same place? Where is it- over West a bit by Lake Travis? I wanna come hike with you! :)
I love that picture of him hanging from one arm. I have a hard time hanging from two like Jillian Michaels told me to do in her book.
Ange--there are a lot of cool hiking/biking areas around town. Joe finds them and takes the kids...oftentimes leaving me home to get stuff done (especially when it's really hot!!). These pictures are from Walnut Creek, a greenbelt area about 10 miles southeast of our place. Good area for mountain biking too!
Lisa--ha! I had to look up Jillian Michaels. So, hanging by two arms will make everyone look like her?! Maybe I'll give it a try since our kids have one of those pull-up bars we still need to install in one of our door jambs.
Looks like everyone is having so much fun! That is always good.
