The zig-zag tearing (daughter said using scissors may be "cheating") solution may have been what the students were expected to come up with, but tearing/twisting was the first and only way our kids figured it out on their own. They were very impressed with the zig-zag solution but made themselves feel better by claiming their twists made it more secure to get through without breaking. A fun challenge for sure!
I'm the wife of a wonderful, saintly man, and I am a homeschooling mom of our four children. We strive to have a family-centered, education-focused life by living simply, learning together daily, raising our children faithfully...and laughing frequently!

I was actually able to do it by cutting it and didnt have to rip it or twist it together.
